ABOUT?

Securing Glusburn Institute for the future...

Glusburn Institute was founded over 130 years ago, by mill owner Sir John Horsfall. Fast forward to the present day, we are still staying true Sir John's vision of providing a wellbeing and cultural venue for the local community.

We are embarking on an ambitious but essential project to complete a programme of work on the building to safeguard its future, make accessibility improvements, renovate key areas to ensure its prosperity and longevity and secure a building which is of historical and architectural significance.

With this in mind, we ask for your help. As we go forward into planning the project, we need your support. You can help by either donating what you can via our crowdfunder at the 'donate' button, or write a few words of support via the form below.

Thank you and we hope you can support us in preserving an important part of our community.

Thank you for your time!

If you have ticked to be kept updated, we will be in touch soon with further information on progress.

Vision

Our vision is to embed community cohesion in everything we do and continue to build on our successes through developing our programme of activities and events, by providing a facility that is fit for purpose.

Preserve

We want to preserve a building which is held fondly in the hearts of our local community. A building that is of historical and architectural significance, and connect more of our community with heritage.

community

We have pride in place. We are proud to call Glusburn home. Our community is at the heart of everything we do and we know that so many people have fond connections to
Glusburn Institute. Through this project we plan to reinvigorate peoples connection with the building and invite new people to take part.
